Whitley County Harm Reduction Initiative

Our Harm Reduction program is a vital part of our community’s health efforts. It focuses on preventing the spread of diseases like HIV and Hepatitis C among people who inject drugs. Whitley County is among the top 15 counties in the nation for these infections, so our program plays a critical role in keeping our community healthy and safe.

What We Offer:

  • Overdose prevention education and naloxone
  • Education and vaccination to prevent the spread of infections
  • Education about wound care, safer injection, and safer sex practices
  • Sterile syringes and safe disposal of used syringes
  • Testing for HIV, Hepatitis C, and other STIs and linkage to treatment
  • Referral and limited case management to help people enter and maintain recovery
  • Fentanyl testing strips
